Today was supposed to be a quick trip to the clinic for an injection of the chemo drug, Vincristine. This treatment usually makes for the shortest day we ever get to have in the clinic. But today Caleb’s counts were really low. That makes him susceptible to infections which are indicated by a fever. And now he is running a fever, so they are admitting us into the hospital for a few days to get antibiotics. I had planned on a short day today, so I have nothing here with me.
My mom is coming shortly to sit with Caleb so I can go back to Avera to get some clothes and other stuff I’ll need. Unfortunately, Holly has to work until Thursday, so we are trying to work out logistics of staying with Caleb and getting Joshua looked after. Holly is a mess emotionally since she found out we are being admitted and she can’t be here with her family.
So please pray for us. This will be a tough week because of the timing of it all. But we still choose joy! God will see us through, although the journey is not always fun. You do have to go through some valleys when you’re changing mountains. The key is to not stop and dwell in the valley, but keep moving up the next mountain!
May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God. -Ephesians 3:19
